How we differ
Other ways to keep an app private
Updated
Jiayang Cloud hosts apps that only the people you share them with can open, tells each app who is calling with a signed token, and logs every visit. Here is how that compares with other ways to keep an app private, checked on 16 October 2026.
Each row links the vendor's own page, and the sources are listed at the end. Where a vendor's page doesn't say, the cell says "Not stated". If something here is wrong or out of date, write to support@jiayang.cloud and we'll fix it.
| Product | New apps private | Who can be let in | Viewer needs an account there | Who is calling, passed to the app |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Jiayang Cloud | Yes, every app starts private | Any email address, everyone at your company's domain, a group, or the whole workspace | No. A code sent by email, or Google or Microsoft | A signed token on every plan, checked by SDKs for Node, Python, Go and Rust |
| Vercel Deployment Protection | Previews, yes. Production domains stay public unless you choose All Deployments | Team and project members, Vercel users given access, anyone with a shareable link. A password on Pro, at $20 a month per project. Your own identity provider with Passport, on Enterprise | A Vercel account, for Vercel Authentication. None for a password | With Passport, on Enterprise, a verified identity the app can read |
| Netlify private projects | Yes, for new projects of new teams on Free, Personal and Pro credit-based plans. Existing teams opt in | Team members and invited collaborators. On Free and Personal, only the owner | A Netlify account. None for a password, on Pro | Not stated |
| Replit private deployments | In an organization workspace, yes. In a personal workspace, apps start public | Anyone with a password, everyone in the workspace, or invited users and groups | A Replit sign-in, for the private options. None for a password | Not stated |
| Lovable publish visibility | No. On Free and Pro, Public is the default. Workspace admins can set a default for every project | Free and Pro: anyone with the address, or invited people. Business and Enterprise add the workspace and custom lists. Up to 10 email invites per update | A Lovable account at the invited address | Not stated |
| Codex Sites | Yes. A new site is open to its owner and the workspace's admins | People or groups in the ChatGPT workspace, the whole workspace, invited outside viewers where that's available, or anyone when public publishing is on | Invited viewers sign in with the account that was invited | The viewer's email in a request header. The docs don't say it's signed |
| Cloudflare Access for Workers | No. It's off until you turn it on, for one Worker or every Worker in the account | Members of the Cloudflare account, everyone at an email domain, or other rules set in Zero Trust | Not for an email domain rule. The account rule lets in only the account's members | The signed-in person's identity, through ctx.access in the Worker |
| Streamlit Community Cloud | Only an app from a private repository. One private app at a time | People invited by email | No account is named. Viewers sign in with Google, or a single-use emailed link | Not stated |
What else an app gets here
These are ours. We don't claim nobody else has them.
- Removing someone ends their access within 60 seconds, open connections included. See How fast a change lands.
- The audit log has every request let in or refused, and every change with who made it, on every plan.
- Claude Code, Codex and Cursor can deploy and share through
jiayang mcp, as you. See Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. - Python, Go, Rust and Node servers run in containers on Team and above. See Python apps.
- Plans are priced per workspace, not per person. See pricing.
Vercel
When to pick it. For public sites and front ends on Vercel's network, and for previews your team reviews before they go live.
Moving from it. jiayang import vercel:<project> brings the project's settings, production variables and cron jobs. See Vercel Deployment Protection and Jiayang Cloud.
Netlify
When to pick it. For public sites, and for a team whose members all work in Netlify already, since a private project's viewers sign in with Netlify accounts.
Moving from it. jiayang import netlify:<site> brings the site's build settings and production variables. See Import from Netlify.
Replit
When to pick it. For writing and running code in the browser, with the app published from the same place.
Moving from it. jiayang import replit reads the Repl's files and .replit, and its Secrets from a file you save. See Replit private deployments and Jiayang Cloud.
Lovable
When to pick it. For building the app by describing it.
Moving from it. Push the project to GitHub, or download it, and import it with jiayang import. See Make a Lovable app private for your company.
Codex Sites
When to pick it. When the people who use the site are in your ChatGPT workspace, and you build it in ChatGPT or Codex.
Moving from it. Codex can deploy here instead, through jiayang mcp. See Codex Sites and Jiayang Cloud.
Cloudflare Access for Workers
When to pick it. When your apps are Workers in your own Cloudflare account and your company already uses Cloudflare Zero Trust. Jiayang Cloud runs on Cloudflare too, and is for when you'd rather not run the account, the routes and the policies yourself.
Streamlit Community Cloud
When to pick it. For public Streamlit apps, and for one private app shared with a few people.
Moving from it. Run jiayang deploy in the app's folder. See Deploy a private Streamlit, Gradio or FastAPI app.
